Did 3 classes @ Equinox today.

I had planned to go to an early 7am yoga class but when I got there I had realized I looked at the class schedule for the wrong day. So I dropped in to 2 other classes there.

One was the ViPR class [see video]. This ViPR thing is relatively new and let me tell you… it kicked my non-weight-lifting ass. Very fun, dynamic class.

I then decided to stay for the class that was happening right after which was pilates. My core was sore within the 1st sit up set. jesus. I am definitely going to do these classes more often.

After work Drew agreed to come to the 1 hr spin class with me. It whooped both of our asses but we came out of it feeling high and energized. I definitely never find myself ever regretting my gym membership investment.

I hope the double duty today makes up for at least one of the days I missed.

I pay $138/month for my gym but I never really go to many of the classes. Today I decided that I wanted to do something besides the elliptical and since I can’t run I thought I’d pop into a spin class.

SO FUN! I’ve done a few of them at Equinox before but I always forget how fun they actually can be. Such great burn! I decided to try to do a really short run after the spin class to get a feel for how the transition might feel during a triathalon… still got that on the mind.

45 min spin class

1 mile run

Today I wanted to do something lo-impact as I’ve already broken my PT’s rules for running 2x max per week spread apart by 3-4 days. Addictions addictions.

Instead I just walked home from work. Stopped by trader joe’s on the way. Only 1.5 miles but it was nice to just take my time with something for once.

went to fleet feet today and snagged a new pair of running shoes.

i had been putting this off for a while because i was advised not to run but yesterdays run had me on such a high that i went out there and got a new pair in hopes that i might be able to run more with proper shoes. got the brook’s ravenna 2 and boy are they comfortable. i was a little weary at first of straying away from saucony but since fleet feet has an awesome 30 day policy, i decided to try something new.

ran 3 miles in them at 8’04” (WOOT!) and totally against dr’s orders. at this point i’ll take what i can get.

weighed myself this am and despite the (almost) daily workouts and eating right, i’ve gained 1 lb?

my theory: water weight (i’ve been drinking over a gallon a day) + still having trouble with passing waste + possible muscle gain (i’ve been going a little heavy on the elliptical when i should keep it a little lighter so i could go longer instead).

i will be changing my elliptical difficulty to 10 instead of 14 starting today.

did 7 miles on the elliptical today.

we’ll see how this goes.

slacked. again.

but this time it was due to some digestive/stomach issues.

i’ve also found it very difficult to get to the gym or any type of work out during that time of the month. i don’t know about any other girls out there but it makes me SUPER tired and SUPER hungry. :(

i’ve also been unable to pass a satisfying movement. there. i said it. so i took a laxative to help because i’ve been feeling very backed up. all day i was out of commission. shit is strong [pun intended]. i’m going to try to make up for it by doing a double stack on saturday.

TMI yet?
